With the support of Speedway Children’s Charities, Dore Academy is able to assist students diagnosed with learning disabilities and/or ADHD to be educated in spite of the disability. Speedway Children’s Charities has made a remarkable impact in the lives of several of our students by funding scholarships to those who might not otherwise be able to attend Dore Academy. 26% of the student population of Dore receives financial assistance with the help of the Speedway Children’s Charities Grant.

Dore Academy is a K-12 College Preparatory School which serves students whose learning needs are not met in traditional teaching environments. Dore Academy is a lively, close-knit community and we believe that learning is a collaborative endeavor built upon trust, respect, and communication between the school and the family. Ask students what they like about Dore, and you will hear stories about teachers who took the time to encourage them to stretch their minds, take risks and view education as a lifelong adventure.

Through creative multi-sensory teaching, our faculty structures a learning environment and a methodology uniquely adapted to the school’s mission of educating children with learning disabilities. We use teaching methods that begin by detecting each student’s learning style, focusing on the way each student acquires and constructs knowledge and demonstrates understanding. Dore’s teachers are the heart of our successful history of preparing bright children to achieve.

Dore Academy has become known for its Signature Experience, which is a unique principle that guides curriculum, assessment, social and emotional development, and our arts and technology program. These facets provide a one-of-a-kind experience and contribute to the high level of achievement among our students.

As a result, students feel confident about themselves and their learning. 99% of students who graduate from Dore go on to purse college education from 4 year state and private institutions. The funding from Speedway Children’s Charities allows Dore to serve students and their families through a conducive community environment to foster academic success.
