Speedway Children's Charities and Lowe's Motor Speedway to host The NASCAR Foundation's Fourth Annual Blood Drive
NASCAR fans can help save lives by rolling up their sleeves and donating blood on Friday, Sept. 11 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Foundation's Fourth Annual Blood Drive is presented by Nationwide Insurance and hosted by Speedway Children's Charities and the American Red Cross.
Each year the drive utilizes NASCAR tracks, drivers, teams and sponsors in an effort to help meet the on-going need for more than 39,000 blood donations every day. The national effort spearheaded by The NASCAR Foundation aspires to help maintain safe blood supply levels and lessen blood shortages that often occur during the summer months.
The blood drive will be held in The Speedway Club from 12:30-6:30p.m. Upon arrival participants should park on either side of the Avenue of Flags, enter Smith Tower though valet parking and proceed to the fifth floor.
All donors will receive a gift bag donated by 3M, Lowe's Motor Speedway, Speedway Children's Charities and the American Red Cross.
Last year 29 tracks participated in the national event collecting a total of 4,261 pints of blood potentially saving more than 12,000 lives.
