About SCC Charlotte Chapter
Founded in 1982 by Bruton Smith, Chairman of Speedway Motorsports and Sonic Automotive, as a memoriam and legacy to his son, Bruton Cameron Smith, who passed away at a very young age, Speedway Children's Charities is focused on funding a wide range of charities that focus on children in need and their families.
"Our sole concern at SCC is to help a child in need," says Smith.
The Charlotte Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities is located in Concord, NC. We host events and promotions geared around race weeks and other activities at Charlotte Motor Speedway, as well as events within the Charlotte community.
Speedway Children's Charities has had a huge effect by raising hundreds of thousands of dollars that stay right here in the Charlotte community. We dedicate our efforts to funding a wide range of charities - because communities have a wide range of charitable interest and needs. Our goal is to reach as many children as possible by supporting those agencies that are the unsung heroes in many communities.
